Southern Barbeque Comfort Food in Utah Q-4-U

Q4U 4 Beehives out of 5.

Today I redeemed a gift certificate for the Q4U Barbecue restaurant. Q4U is a fun Southern style BBQ restaurant with authentic southern entrees. From Hushpuppies to Brisket, of course ribs, smoked chicken, southern fried chicken, hot links, even fried cat fish and much more. Across the walls are photos of the cook posing with several NBA stars and other notable people. Southern Blues music plays from the sound system.

I went for the "Fun Bunch" dish, consisting of 2 delicious ribs, a smoked chicken thigh and leg, sauteed vegetables and a hot link along with a side of BBQ beans, seasoned fries and Hushpuppies. My wife went with ribs, barbeque beans and coleslaw. I'm not a fan of coleslaw, in fact I hate it, but I tried theirs, it was delicious. The Portions are Huge, the prices are quite reasonable, the atmosphere is casual. If you are looking for a great BBQ place I'd definitely recommend Q4U. The only con I would have to say is that the complimentary bread basket was lacking.

Q4U also advertises on their receipts that they are now offering franchises.

Food Review: Bajio Mexican Restaurant - OOHHH YEAH

One of the best places to eat in Utah is Bajio Grill. Huge portions of fresh and perfectly seasoned mexican food. One entree is usually a good two meals. I reccommend the Burro Classico with mexican rice and refried beans on the inside with the lime grilled chicken. On the side go for the sweet rice and black beans. Salsa Verde (It's mild but still has a kick). Then top it off with some pico di gallo and that's some good food.

Of course to be fair I will list some of my complaints to an otherwise perfect restaurant.

1 - depending on who prepares your food you may get awesome portions or skimpy portions, but usually it is on the generous side so it's usually not that bad.

2 - sometimes the salsa verde has what seems to be a little too much brown sugar in it. I don't even know if that is what it is, but sometimes it's too sweet and has a definite brown sugar taste.

3 - If you go to Bajio at lunch time or in the evenings get ready for huge lines. You can do like I do and have lunch an hour earlier.

Other than that though I give Bajio a well earned five beehives out of five... Wahoo
